After leading multiple successful projects in production of film and digital media - founder Michael Cantalupo begins contemplation on if his quest to make meaningful art can be fulfilled by his first love - music;

He spends his free time in Miami's improvisational jam scene, slowly finding the right pieces to the puzzle of a music project that feels like a mirror for the needs of modern times.

Bandleader Michael Cantalupo gathers pianist
Julian Bermudez, bassist Sami Head in Miami’s historic Criteria Studios for a recording session of improvised music. A leap of faith, for it was the first time we ever played together;

No pre-created songs, pure creation
in the moment. Vocalist Pierangela and saxophonist Marcelo Romero join the session. Together, we created a day that felt like a paradigm-shift.

In an effort to re-create the joy of spontaneous creation, we create a live experience in a 100-year-old church on Lincoln Rd in Miami Beach. The show sells out and introduces thousands to the Gather ‘Round experience.

Upon receiving a grant from the city, we created our largest improvised gathering to date in Miami’s Historic Cultural Plaza.

In an effort to create more frequent gatherings for people
to meet and double down on community creation, we create the Miami SuperJam - another completely improvised, conversation focused happening in a beautiful garden
in Little Haiti.
